Kristen Wenzel, MA - Therapist

A Little About Kristen:

Hello! I am a down-to -earth person with a yearning to explore this world. Most often I have been called a ‘light’ through my experiences, and it perfectly describes how I strive as a therapist to be a lighthouse for others during the storms of their lives. There are so many unique aspects of each individual and being a part of supporting their self-discovery is something that I think is invaluable to the field. As a therapist I want to assist others in leading their own lives in order to become their best selves one step at a time. I started working in Mental Health in 2015. My approach allows clients to show up in session as they are in the moment and as their therapist, I can meet them where they are at and they can guide the path to their healing. Working with me will be a combination of having in-depth conversations about thoughts, feelings and behaviors, leaning into emotional expression as a form of medicine, breaking down internal walls and healing as a continual process filled with self-compassion so that one can live their greatest life.

My specialties are with Anxiety, Emotional wellbeing, Life transitions and inner child healing. Populations I enjoy working with are the LGBTQ+ community, teens, young adult and adults that want a safe space to process their emotions and life experiences. The modalities I use are, Client- centered, Humanistic, Trauma Informed, Solution Focused, Techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Techniques Acceptance and commitment therapy.

When I’m not at work, if it is a warm weather day you can find me outside soaking up the sun in anyway possible, and on the cold days I am more than likely inside, diving into a creative activity like Legos, exploring a new world in a book or watching an old comfort tv show. Fun fact about me, after I finished my master’s degree I backpacked across Europe with my best friend, we visited 9 countries in 8 weeks! I absolutely love to travel and to experience various parts of this world, it is something that helps me to stay humble and to keep believing in the good in others. I aim to live in the present with a life of gratitude and to learn at least one new thing everyday until my time on this planet is done.
